Sergio Agüero thinks Julián Álvarez would be a great addition to Barcelona. The former Barcelona and Atlético Madrid striker has described his compatriot as one of the most complete strikers today. Álvarez made headlines on Monday when he confirmed that he had spoken to Atlético Madrid about the possibility of leaving after the World Cup match against Austria. The Spanish club reacted angrily and accused Barcelona of improperly contacting the player. Agüero said he sees a move to Camp Nou for the 26-year-old compatriot as feasible. 'Julián would be a great fit for Barcelona thanks to his playing style,' he said on YouTube channel Jijantes. 'He's a great player. A striker, a winger, an attacking midfielder. He's absolutely on the attack.' Two years ago, Álvarez moved from Manchester City for around 100 million euros, where Agüero was the all-time top scorer. The former player also did not see anything wrong when Álvarez spoke publicly about his situation. 'The club will not publicly announce that a player will be sold. Only the player remains to speak honestly about the situation. There's nothing wrong with that.' Agüero is also not worried about the financial viability of a transfer deal. The former striker pointed out that big clubs rarely pay transfer fees in one go. 'No club easily spends 150 million euros. Such amounts are usually divided over about five or six years. That's how transfers work these days.' Currently, Atlético Madrid does not seem to want to let Álvarez leave. The club has made it clear that Álvarez will not move to Barcelona unless his release clause of 500 million euros is paid.
