Ajax has announced the first friendly match in preparation for the 2026/27 season. Coach Míchel's team will face Greek club Panathinaikos on Saturday, July 4. The match will take place at De Zanderij Stadium, the complex of EFC '58 in Ermelo, starting at 17:00. Ticket sales will be carried out through amateur clubs and local ticket sales points. Ajax and Panathinaikos have met in the past in Europa Cup I, with the most famous meeting being the 1971 final, when Ajax won their first title after victory over the Greeks. The Amsterdam team will begin their preparations the week of June 22, including medical tests and the first training session on the field.
