BBC Sport: Launching Shorts - Latest short videos right on your phone
BBC Sport has introduced Shorts, a new feature on its app, providing short videos of sporting moments, including highlights, interviews and breaking news.

BBC Sport has launched Shorts, a new short video feature that aims to bring fans memorable sporting moments, from stunning goals to surprise interviews and unforgettable celebrations. Shorts will help viewers easily follow interesting and outstanding content in the sports world as soon as they open the BBC Sport app.
To use Shorts, you need to download the latest version 9.12.1 of the BBC Sport app on Apple and Android devices. Shorts will appear as a tab in the app, giving you quick access to sports stories, moments and hot spots in an instant.
So what are Shorts? Shorts is short for short videos. Not the pants that soccer players usually wear, but the familiar video format you might recognize from many social media platforms: full-screen, vertical, and easy to scroll through.
The content is not just highlights but also includes a variety of breaking news, explainers, behind-the-scenes content, interviews and highlights from major sporting events. Most importantly, this is all about sports. There aren't any distractions. Only trustworthy, entertaining and informative sports videos from the teams covering the biggest stories in sports.

Whether you have 30 seconds or 30 minutes to spare, Shorts is the perfect place to catch up on the action, gain insight into the stories and hear from big figures in your favorite sports.
Can you set Shorts as your default experience? Have. If you love the Shorts experience, you can set it as your home screen when you open the BBC Sport app. Just press the menu button in the upper right corner, select "More", then open "Settings". If you prefer the Home or My Sport interface, they are still available and you can toggle the default experience at any time in Settings.
Is the experience personalized? Not yet. This is the first version of Shorts, so you'll see the same experience as everyone else. The content is edited by the BBC Sport team, bringing together the latest and greatest videos from news and events in the world of sport.
Why did we launch Shorts? More fans are watching sports through short videos than ever before. We want BBC Sport to be on the formats that audiences increasingly use every day, while also offering something different. This is trusted journalism, in-depth analysis and compelling storytelling from the teams covering the biggest stories in sports. Shorts combines the best of reporting, storytelling, highlights and analysis from BBC Sport in a format designed for the way many people follow sport today.
