Chelsea have officially signed Japanese international midfielder Manaka Matsukubo on a five-year deal. This 21-year-old player joined Chelsea from the North Carolina Courage team in the US National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). During her time with North Carolina, Matsukubo scored 19 goals and had 10 assists in 58 matches, and was named the best midfielder in the NWSL in 2025.
