Christian Pulisic Returns to Training with the US Team After Absence from the World Cup Match
Christian Pulisic has returned to training with the US team after being unable to participate in the World Cup match due to injury. His return is seen as a positive sign as the team prepares for the final group stage match against Türkiye.

Christian Pulisic returned to training with his U.S. teammates on Monday after missing the most recent World Cup match due to a calf injury. Pulisic participated in warm-ups and ball exercises during a 15-minute practice open to the media in Orange County. The team made no official announcement about the condition of the AC Milan midfielder, who played just one round in the US team's World Cup match. Pulisic did not participate in the US team's 2-0 victory over Australia in Seattle last Friday. He played in the first half of the opening match of the tournament, helping the team score two of their three goals in the first half of a historic 4-1 win over Paraguay before leaving the field due to muscle stiffness from an injury sustained in the previous training session. Pulisic has been training privately in training sessions between the two matches, so his return to the starting lineup is a positive sign. During his absence, he could only perform exercises in the gym, resistance training and light exercises with the ball. "It's a difficult situation when you have a small injury," Pulisic's teammate Alex Zendejas said on Monday. "This is an important tournament, where everyone wants to be able to play at 100%, but [we don't] talk about the injury or the moment [Pulisic] is going through. [We] talk about other things, try to help him forget about it. Just be by his side." The Americans will finish the group stage on Thursday night at SoFi Stadium against Türkiye in a match that no longer makes sense with the Americans at the top of the group and the team eliminated. Team USA's first knockout match will take place on July 1 in Santa Clara, California. Coach U.S. Mauricio Pochettino still does not have a full squad in training at Great Park. Midfielder Cristian Roldan was absent due to a muscle strain.
