Daniil Kondakov commented on the contract extension with Zenit St. Petersburg until the end of the 2030/2031 season. On 10 June, the club announced the decision.
— Daniil, first of all, congratulations. Please share your feelings right now.
— Thank you so much for the wishes! I feel very happy to sign for the club. I want to stay here, train every day, deserve a place in the first team and win trophies.
— What does Zenit Club mean to you? How do you evaluate the path you have taken with the blue-white-green shirt?
— This club means everything to me, because I have been here since childhood, a product of the club. This is my hometown club that I want to play for and defend its colors. As for the road... I think this is just the beginning. I can do a lot, I have a lot to prove and play for. I'm still only taking one small step, there's a lot of work ahead.
— The coaches, management and players have commented that, although you are quite young, you have become a full-fledged player in Zenit's squad. Do you feel this trust and support? If so, how does it manifest?
— Yes, I feel it. From everyone: from Sergey Bogdanovich [Semak], Konstantin Georgievich [Zyryanov], from the players... After training sessions, I understood that I was a player of the first team, that everyone treated me the same, and that the requirements for me were the same as everyone else.
— Share your plans — both near and far for the new season.
— The closest thing is to do well in the high school graduation exam in biology. And the biggest goal is to try to prove my ability in every training session, try to take a place in the first team, win all the titles — Super Cup, Cup and championship this season with Zenit. Kondakov made his debut in the team's first team on September 30, 2025, coming on the field in a cup match against Rubin. Currently, the midfielder has 15 matches for the main team, one assist and one Russian championship title.
