Dmitry Igdisamov talks about negotiations with Akron before signing with CSKA
Dmitry Igdisamov, head coach of CSKA, spoke about the negotiations with Akron and confirmed that his top priority is to continue working at CSKA.
CSKA head coach Dmitry Igdisamov commented on negotiations with the Akron club before being appointed to the Moscow team. At the end of the 2025/2026 season, he led the CSKA team as temporary in charge.
— Akron contacted you?
- Have. But I said immediately: "Men, currently there is no information about the future at CSKA. This is my priority." I'm a realist. No daydreaming, no imagination. I understand that sometimes patience is needed. Relax everything, look from afar.
— But you may have accelerated the process. The situation is unclear at CSKA, while Akron is a realistic option.
— Why do we have to do that?
— You have a family.
- Are not. I respect the club and the management. I don't negotiate behind their backs. The ball is on their side. I did everything I could. Worked for two weeks as I could. Why should I call and say something?
— Maybe CSKA previously knew about interest from Akron?
— Our relationship with Roman Yurievich [Babaev] is respectful and trustworthy. I have no right to negotiate behind my back. He already knows that there was a conversation, and I am waiting for a decision from CSKA," Igdisamov was quoted as saying by "Vechernaya Kazan."
