Fiorentina is considering recruiting player Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United to find a striker to replace Moise Kean, the player who is currently being linked with a move to Como. According to information from Calciomercato.it, Zirkzee has surpassed Beto on Fiorentina's list of targets and may be an important addition to the team in this summer transfer window.
Moise Kean's situation at Fiorentina is very tense as the player did not attend training with the team on Wednesday morning and was fined by the club. Kean then agreed to attend a private training session in the afternoon. The player is trying to make a transfer to Como, which has sent Fiorentina a second offer worth 40 million euros, including 35 million euros fixed and 5 million euros in bonuses.
Fiorentina are currently demanding a higher sum and will not agree to let Kean leave until a suitable replacement is found. This is completely consistent with what sporting director Fabio Paratici announced publicly before Monday's 4-0 loss to Roma, when he outlined three conditions for any departure, the third of which was that Fiorentina needed to find a player of equal or better quality.
Fiorentina's targeting of Joshua Zirkzee shows that they are determined to strengthen their squad, especially in a context where the team is having difficulty retaining key players. Zirkzee, with experience playing in the Premier League and good scoring ability, is expected to bring freshness and strength to Fiorentina's attack next season. All eyes are currently on Kean's transfer situation and whether Fiorentina can complete a deal with Zirkzee before the transfer window closes.
What happens next
If Moise Kean completes his transfer to Como, Fiorentina can quickly conduct negotiations with Manchester United to recruit Joshua Zirkzee. This will depend on the price Fiorentina is willing to pay and Zirkzee's agreement to join the Italian team.
