Genoa approaches Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for an attractive transfer deal
Genoa have approached Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a transfer from Olympique Marseille as the striker searches for a new club after his contract was extended until June 2027.
Genoa has made moves to approach veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is playing at Olympique Marseille, according to information from transfer expert Matteo Moretto. The striker just celebrated his 37th birthday a few weeks ago and has been told he should look for a new club, even though his contract with Marseille expires in June 2027.
Aubameyang is still in good form, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists in 41 official matches for Marseille last season. Although he has never played in Serie A, Aubameyang is no stranger to Italian football, having spent time at AC Milan's youth academy since January 2007. The Rossoneri kept him in the squad until 2012, loaning him to Dijon, Lille, AS Monaco and Saint-Etienne.
This report only states that Genoa have approached to inquire about the possibility of signing him, so it is unclear whether the deal will progress further or not. The Grifone team is in the process of rebuilding under the guidance of coach Daniele De Rossi after finishing last season quite comfortably in the middle of the table.
