Haaland and the Norway team impress with special team photo: 'Norway is coming'

Norway surprised football fans by introducing a special team photo in preparation for the 2026 World Cup. In the photo, Erling Haaland and his teammates wore Viking costumes, bringing a unique and impressive style. This photo was published by the Norwegian football federation last Thursday.

Different from the usual traditional team photos, Norway chose a more creative approach. They created the photo as a tribute to the country's Viking history, with the entire squad dressed as sea explorers. In it, Haaland stands out with a shield and weapon, showing the heroic spirit of Viking warriors.

The photo was taken by British photographer David Yarrow, who has collaborated with Haaland before. "I knew that this might cause some controversy, but I wanted to express the feeling of a journey back to the Viking period, as if they were making their way to America," Yarrow said. The photo was taken this past weekend at a beach near Oslo.

Martin Ødegaard, although initially absent due to attending the Champions League final against Arsenal, had his own photo taken later at the same location and was included in the official photo.

The caption accompanying the photo carries a strong message: "Norway is coming".
