Harry Kane leads England to the 2026 World Cup semi-finals
In the dramatic quarter-final match at the 2026 World Cup, England had an emotional victory over host Mexico with a score of 3-2. Harry Kane, England's captain, gave his all on the field and showed the team's strong determination. Despite having to play with 10 men for most of the match, England overcame the challenges to qualify for the semi-finals.The match was tense from the first minutes. He scored the opening goal but suffered losses when a player was sent off. However, Kane and his teammates did not give up and continued to fight to score two more goals before Mexico shortened the score. Kane said: "We scored three goals against a home team that had never conceded in this competition. We fought with 10 men for about 40 to 50 minutes. You can say anything about us, but we have will and pride in this shirt. Everyone fought for every ball and every inch of ground on the pitch."

Despite showing pride, Kane lost his voice during the match, possibly due to the intensity of the match as well as the excitement after the victory. England coach Thomas Tuchel could not hide his emotions: "I am very proud of the team. Every time we thought we had a grasp of the game, there was an obstacle. This was an emotional and dramatic match. We fought with 10 people and this felt like a semi-final."
At the end of the match, Tuchel also mentioned Jordan Henderson's injury, when the midfielder suffered a serious wrist injury. "This is a special evening, but we also have mixed emotions. This is a serious injury for Jordan and this is sad on an evening like this." Next, England will face Norway in the semi-finals on Saturday.
