He has scored 17 goals for Wales, including 12 in the past three years. Wilson has become an important figure for the team, although he refuses to be compared to his predecessor Gareth Bale.

"I think the comparison with Bale is something I've left behind. No one in this country can come close to the standard and quality that Bale has shown over the years," Wilson said. "I feel responsible and I want to be one of the key players of the team, and I'm very confident in my current form. I feel like I'm in the prime of my career."
