Inter Milan is in the process of completing the transfer of Oumar Solet from Udinese. According to reports on Wednesday, Inter have reached an agreement on personal terms with the midfielder and are close to meeting the asking price of 25 million euros offered by Udinese.

Inter is looking to strengthen its defense after winning the domestic double in the 2025-26 season. Many veteran players such as Francesco Acerbi and Matteo Darmian are expected to leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of this month. Besides that, there is also information that Yann Bisseck could be sold in a profitable deal this summer.

Oumar Solet has become a long-term target for Inter and sporting director Piero Ausilio has confirmed that the Frenchman is on the list of options the club are considering ahead of the summer transfer window. "We will definitely take actions to strengthen the defense. We have to intervene, even if only to supplement the numbers, because the contracts of Darmian and Acerbi are about to expire," Ausilio said in a recent interview. "Solet is one of the players we are monitoring, he did very well in Italy. However, there are many other options. We will get a good centre-back for the upcoming season."

According to reports from multiple sources, including La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have reached a preliminary agreement on personal terms with Solet. It is reported that the 26-year-old is ready to sign a four-year contract with a salary of around 2.5 million euros per season. Inter are also close to meeting Udinese's asking price, which is believed to be around 25 million euros. La Gazzetta dello Sport said Inter still lacks about 3 million euros to satisfy Udinese's request.

The two clubs are still in the process of negotiating a transfer form, with the possibility that Solet will transfer on an initial loan with the option or obligation to buy back later. If this happens, Solet will likely sign a contract extension with Udinese first, as he will enter the final year of his contract this summer. It is also reported that Arthur Atta has been mentioned in discussions between the two clubs, but La Gazzetta dello Sport say Inter are only asking for information and there is no further progress on this front at the moment.
