Inter Milan adjusts transfer plan after missing out on Palestra
Inter Milan has adjusted its transfer plan after losing a number of important targets, including Marco Palestra to Chelsea. They are looking at options like Trevoh Chalobah and Curtis Jones to strengthen the squad.

Inter Milan was forced to adjust its transfer plan, when many of the original goals were no longer feasible. The most heartbreaking name is Marco Palestra, almost confirmed before Chelsea got involved. Meanwhile, Udinese's deal with Oumar Solet has cooled down, leaving only a narrow entrance. The pursuit of Curtis Jones from Liverpool also encountered difficulties when the team's incredibly high valuation of £35 million forced Inter to expand its search. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the technical requirements remain unchanged, although player names may have changed. Coach Cristian Chivu's team needs a right-back to replace Denzel Dumfries, a couple of centre-backs after the departures of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, and a midfielder to inject new life, with Davide Frattesi possibly having to make way. In the wing position, Inter paid attention to Anan Khalaili, but they arrived late: Napoli had long been pursuing the Israeli player and had an agreement with his agent. Negotiations with Union Saint-Gilloise have stalled, with the Belgian club demanding at least 25 million euros, and doubts remain over whether Khalaili is willing to replace Dumfries. In defense, Trevoh Chalobah is admired, although Chelsea are asking for around 30 million euros plus bonuses, while Como have rejected an offer of 25 million euros. The England defender, after an outstanding season and a call-up to the national team, has appeared and disappeared from Inter's thoughts over the past three summers. In terms of midfielders, Jones remains the preferred choice of sporting director Piero Ausilio, with Inter hoping that the player's wishes could soften Liverpool's stance. Nottingham Forest have also entered the race, while considering a move for Frattesi. In goalkeeper, Lazio's Ivan Provedel has been named as backup to Josep Martínez, with a €3 million deal agreed in principle pending Claudio Lotito's approval.
