To start this plan, Inter decided to extend the contract with coach Cristian Chivu. Coach Chivu signed a new contract with the club, valid until June 30, 2028, with a minimum salary of 3 million euros net per year. Through its media channels, Inter Milan confirmed this information: "FC Internazionale Milano is pleased to announce the contract extension with coach Cristian Chivu. Thanks to the new agreement, he will continue to lead the team until 2028."

In addition to retaining Chivu, Inter is also actively looking for a replacement for Dumfries. The club is negotiating with Atalanta to recruit Marco Palestra, with an offer of around 50 million euros, including bonuses.
