Inter: A realistic assessment of the problem by Jones, Camavinga and Solet
Inter chief executive Piero Ausilio discusses the challenges of signing Curtis Jones from Liverpool and the uncertainty surrounding other potential signings, highlighting a realistic approach to the transfer market.

Inter CEO Piero Ausilio admitted that there is a big gap with Liverpool's valuation for midfielder Curtis Jones, while he also gave a cold shoulder to Oumar Solet and Eduardo Camavinga. ‘We need to be realistic.’ Mr Ausilio spoke at an event in Rimini this evening to mark the opening of the Serie A transfer market, and has given various interviews. It's no secret that Inter are chasing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, but even though his contract only runs until June 2027, the price tag doesn't fall below €40 million. "I have never denied our interest in the player, we tried in January as well, but I also have to be honest that there is a big gap between our valuation and Liverpool's," said Ausilio. The offer for Jones was around 25 million euros, a big difference from the 40 million euros Liverpool were asking for. Meanwhile, Mr. Ausilio warned that a number of other deals are also far from being completed, including the pursuit of Udinese defender Solet. "Solet, like many other players, could be an opportunity, but he is not the only one. Furthermore, I am not sure that he can be the right one for us, let's calmly see what the transfer market brings, but we are in no rush and can start the season with the squad we have. However, we intend to sign two new defenders." What Ausilio has confirmed is that there is no "absolute interest" in Roma midfielder Niccolò Pisilli. When asked about Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga, Ausilio sighed with disappointment. "We have to be realistic, there are players who can be considered, and others who cannot. We know Camavinga's transfer value and salary, so this is not feasible."
