Central defender James Connolly has left Crewe Alexandra after rejecting a new contract offer from the League Two club. The 24-year-old Welshman has been considering his future at Mornflake over the past few weeks but has decided to move on after two seasons. Connolly joined the Railwaymen from Bristol Rovers at the start of the 2024-25 season and has made 71 appearances and scored 3 goals. He was one of seven players offered new contracts at the end of last season, but the club said he chose to leave in search of a new challenge.
