Former striker of Bari, Bologna, Lazio and the Swedish team, Kennet Andersson, expressed his condolences to Igor Protti, his former teammate at Bari. Andersson said: "Igor is one of the most important people in my approach to Italian football. He welcomed me and helped me integrate into life in Italy, both on and off the field. My thoughts and those of my family, who went through it, are with his family and relatives, because I know that family for him is everything." Protti was the top scorer in Serie A in the 1995-96 season with 24 goals, but those goals were not enough for Bari to survive relegation. Next to him is Andersson, who started his successful career in Bari and went on to play for Bologna, Lazio and Fenerbahce.
