Kirsty Hanson, Aston Villa's top scorer, is set to join Tottenham
Kirsty Hanson, Aston Villa's top scorer, is set to join Tottenham after a successful season in the Women's Super League, where she finished third on the goalscoring list.

Aston Villa attacker Kirsty Hanson is preparing to join Tottenham after an impressive season in the Women's Super League. This Scottish national player has scored 12 goals in 22 matches, second only to Khadija Shaw and Alessia Russo in the tournament's scoring list.

Hanson, Aston Villa's top scorer, was named the team's best player and won the Super League's best goal award for her strike against West Ham. In May, BBC Sport reported that Tottenham were chasing Hanson and it has now been reported that they have received a bid to accept from Aston Villa and are preparing to bring her in this month. Personal terms are being finalized as Hanson - who has scored five goals in 44 appearances for Scotland - prepares to join Tottenham, which would be a strong addition to manager Martin Ho's squad.
The 28-year-old player has one year left on her contract with Aston Villa and it is still unclear what fee Tottenham has agreed to sign her. She will be reunited with Spurs coach Martin Ho, who worked with her at Manchester United when he was assistant coach. Tottenham enjoyed a strong season in 2025-26, finishing fifth in the table in Ho's first season following his move from SK Brann. They will continue to be ambitious in the transfer window and have signed attacker Shekiera Martinez from West Ham and Dutch defender Caitlin Dijkstra.
