Jurgen Klopp recently made statements regarding his ability to lead the German team in the future. In the context of the German Football Federation (DFB) looking for a new coach, Klopp has confirmed that negotiations with the DFB are still ongoing. "The current situation is quite special because no decisions have been made yet," Klopp said when participating in a commentary program on MagentaTV before the match between Switzerland and Colombia at the World Cup.

Klopp, who has managed Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, emphasized that discussions need to be had, regardless of the final result. Currently, Klopp is working for Red Bull Group with a contract lasting until 2029 and has specific ideas for the project if he is appointed head coach of Mannschaft.

A key element in the plan is the partnership with Rudi Völler, who is expected to continue in his role as national teams director despite Germany's exit from the World Cup. Klopp said: "I have no problem working with Rudi. He will be very helpful because he already understands the mechanics of the system. He brings football experience, as well as a deep understanding of the federation, something I don't have because I've never played or led a national team."

In a humorous style, Klopp also added: "I only played two matches with the university team, so I'm not completely inexperienced."

Although it is an unusual situation to speak publicly about a position he does not yet hold, Klopp did not hesitate to start thinking about the future of the German team. He said his plan will include two aspects: one is related to immediate results and the next match, the other is a long-term vision, aimed at restructuring German football. "One thing is the upcoming match, but another is the future of the whole project," Klopp explained, stressing that the work cannot be limited to the goal of making a debut against the Netherlands, but needs to carry out a deeper transformation of German football.
