Kylian Mbappé opens door to possible move to MLS: “David Beckham often asked me if I wanted to come.”
Kylian Mbappé discusses his future and a possible move to MLS, mentioning David Beckham's interest in inviting him to join the league.
During the press conference before the group stage match against Iraq in Philadelphia, Kylian Mbappé was asked about his future career and post-retirement plans. Mbappé, who has been seen observing his French team-mates' training sessions from a high platform, dismissed suggestions that he is preparing for a coaching career: "I'm not necessarily thinking about becoming a coach, I'm just someone who loves football. I like to understand the game I'm watching, and I like to learn. When your life revolves around something, it's important to understand it. I try to understand every little detail."
Later, during the press conference, Mbappé opened up the possibility of returning to the United States at the end of his playing career: "It's a country with a different culture than Europe, and I've always liked it here. There are no limits to ambition, no fear when it comes to what you want to do and what you can do. That doesn't work everywhere, but here it does."
"Why did I move here? I don't know. David Beckham often asked me if I wanted to come to the United States, but I don't know. Maybe one day, we'll see."
