Liverpool have rejected a second offer worth £21m from Inter Milan for Curtis Jones, showing they value the player higher than the price offered by Inter.
Liverpool has rejected a second offer worth £21 million from Inter Milan for Curtis Jones, according to information from The Times. The Merseyside team is said to be unhappy with the low price offered by Inter and does not consider the Serie A champions to be a real competitor for the 25-year-old player.
They value the midfielder at around £35 million, based on Conor Gallagher's transfer fee when he moved from Atletico Madrid to Tottenham Hotspur last January for a similar price.
Jones has been an important member of Liverpool's first team over the years, making 228 appearances in all competitions and scoring 22 goals. However, he never had a stable starting position and the port city team did not consider him an irreplaceable player. Last season, Jones participated in 30 Premier League matches, of which only 18 were starts.
With only one year left on their current contract at Anfield, Liverpool are not in a strong position in negotiations. However, despite the risk of losing the player for nothing next summer, they are still unwilling to reduce their asking price. Liverpool have also confirmed the departures of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, while Ibrahima Konate is on his way to Real Madrid on a free transfer. There is much speculation about the futures of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, Joe Gomez and Wataru Endo, whose contracts are also out in 2027.
