Liverpool confirms negotiating a €100 million deal with Yan Diomande


Liverpool are making big changes to their attacking formation again this summer. Last year, sporting director Richard Hughes oversaw spending of up to £450m - including around £200m on new strikers. Alexander Isak joined Liverpool for a British record fee of £125m and Hugo Ekitike was signed for £69m. The defending Premier League champions have also completed a deal with Florian Wirtz - worth up to 116 million pounds. While last summer was mainly focused on strengthening the center of attack, this year changes will take place in the wing positions. With questions surrounding Cody Gakpo and Rio Ngumoha, it's not hard to imagine a new left-wing option being added. On the right wing, Mohamed Salah will officially leave when his contract ends on June 30, and Federico Chiesa will also join Salah in leaving the team. Yan Diomande is Liverpool's top target in the wing position. Diomande, a 19-year-old Ivory Coast international, signed for RB Leipzig from Leganes last summer for just 20 million euros, but he could now leave for a fee of around 100 million euros. Leipzig has the right to ask for this price because Diomande has a contract until 2030 and has shown no signs of wanting to leave. In fact, the German side are looking to extend his contract and sell for a higher price in 2027. However, that has not stopped clubs from pursuing, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that talks have already begun for the rising star.
