CSKA defender Matvey Lukin posted an article on his personal page about Brazilian players rejoicing over their national team's victory over Japan in the 1/16 match of the 2026 World Cup finals with a score of 2:1. The match took place at NRG Stadium in Houston, USA. The main referee controlling the match is Maurizio Mariani (from Rome, Italy). Lukin shared a video on his Telegram channel with the words: "We lost to the Brazilian players... had hope for Japan. Now can't sleep anymore." In the 1/8 round, the Brazilian team will meet the winner of the match between Ivory Coast and Norway. The 2026 World Cup takes place in the US, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
