Manchester City is close to completing the deal for Elliot Anderson, but removed Felix Nmecha from the list
Manchester City are close to completing the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, but have also removed Felix Nmecha from their list of targets. The team continues to look for another midfielder, with Sandro Tonali and Ayyoub Bouaddi as potential names.
Manchester City are close to signing Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, somewhat completing their plans to restructure their midfield. However, the team continues to look for another midfielder. Felix Nmecha, the Borussia Dortmund midfielder and Germany international, has been mentioned as a potential fit for the role, but a new report claims Nmecha is not on Manchester City's list of targets.
Nmecha spent time in Manchester City's academy before developing his career in the Bundesliga. However, according to information from Simon Bajkowski from Manchester Evening News, Manchester City has no intention of recruiting Felix Nmecha in this summer transfer window. Media also reported that City, along with Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, have received offers about the possibility of signing Nmecha.
Based on Simon Bajkowski's latest report, City have decided not to participate in the race to sign the German midfielder. This means that Nmecha will not return to Manchester City this summer. Although Nmecha is a quality midfielder, it seems City are aiming elsewhere in their search for a second midfielder.
Currently, Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and young talent Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille are considered possible targets for Manchester City. It remains to be seen whether the team can sign either of these players, or whether Hugo Viana has another name in mind. Nmecha is no longer part of Manchester City's plans this summer.
