The smile made Wendell unable to help but blush
Andrey Mostovoy and Alexander Sobolev mocked Wendell for being late to Zenit's training session, in connection with the fine he had to pay.
Players of the Zenit St. Petersburg, Andrey Mostovoy and Alexander Sobolev, joked about Wendell, the team's midfielder, being late to the team's training session. In a video published by Zenit's media department, Mostovoy pretended to rub his eyes when he saw Wendell and said: "Did I not get enough sleep?" Meanwhile, Sobolev patted Wendell on the shoulder and said: "First give us the fine."
During the winter break, Wendell arrived a week late for Zenit's training session and was fined 700,000 euros (100,000 euros per day of absence). Afterwards, the Chairman of the club's board of directors, Konstantin Zyryanov, returned half of Wendell's fine as a gift to celebrate the championship. In the summer of 2023, Wendell arrived 32 days late, while in the summer of 2025, he arrived 28 days late.
