If the issue with Marco Silva had been resolved before the end of the season, and he had been forced to accept or decline a contract extension, we would have had a better chance of finding a replacement sooner. Wilson clearly would have waited to see if the boss would stay before deciding on his future. Now, we are without a coach and last season's top two scorers have gone and are about to leave. There are rumors that a few other players are being evaluated by other clubs. The new coach will have to work hard just to keep us in the Premier League next season." John: "It's surprising that he chose a team lower in the table than Fulham, even though he probably wouldn't have had many opportunities to play if he went to Aston Villa. Last year was his best year and he's been at Fulham for many years." [Simon]: "This has certainly been Wilson's best season for Fulham, and indeed, I think that without his contribution, this team would have struggled in the relegation battle, especially in the weeks when we were missing three key players due to the Africa Cup of Nations. However, after many years of watching Wilson, I don't think his departure is such a big loss that it could collapse the club. Many times, Wilson is just a bystander.
