At the age of 30, Schick said goodbye to the Czech Republic team: "I have had this idea for a long time."

Patrik Schick has officially parted ways with the Czech Republic team. He announced this decision through a post on his personal Instagram page: "Today, my program in the national team ends. This decision was not impulsive and did not come overnight. This is an idea I have cherished for a long time and have thought about a lot. It has been a journey full of emotions, joys, disappointments, victories and difficult moments. I always try to give my best to the team and best represent our country. I leave with pride in what I have achieved with the national team shirt. But at the same time, I am also aware that Czech football has a LOT more to offer than what has been shown in the past years. We need to face reality and change some things that are not working for a long time team and the people who have supported me on this journey. It is an honor to wear the Czech Republic team shirt." At the age of 30, Schick ended his adventure with the team after 10 years, 56 appearances and 26 goals. He made his debut in May 2016 in a friendly match against Malta, where he also scored his first goal. Schick participated in Euro 2020 and became top scorer, alongside Euro 2024 and the recent World Cup finals, finishing a disappointing bottom position. Schick can now focus solely on his club, Bayer Leverkusen, with his contract running until 2030.
