However, Alfaro does not want to stop at just winning against Germany. He emphasized that Paraguay needs to take advantage of this victory to continue to develop. "I don't need answers from the players, they always let me know that," he said. "But Paraguayan football needs to mature. We cannot start over after every defeat. We need to determine the direction of our football."
According to Alfaro, this historic evening should not be just an exception. "Paraguay has waited 16 years for such a moment. We need to ensure that evenings like this happen more often."
Paraguay will face a tough test in the round of 16, when they meet the winner of the clash between France and Sweden.
