Young striker Felicia Schroeder has joined Real Madrid in what is said to be "the most expensive deal in women's football", according to information from her former club. The Sweden international, 19, has signed a four-year contract with Real after scoring 91 goals in 128 games for Swedish club BK Hacken. Last summer, Orlando Pride made Mexican winger Lizbeth Ovalle the most expensive contract in women's football history for a fee of $1.5 million (equivalent to £1.1 million) when she transferred from Tigres UANL. Representatives of Schroeder and BK Hacken refused to specify the specific value of this deal. However, a Hacken spokesman said: "The value of this deal surpasses the previous record of $1.5 million, a price that was confirmed at the time by Orlando Pride. However, the exact value of this deal is something we do not disclose." Real Madrid finished last season in second place in the Spanish Liga F, 15 points behind champions Barcelona. The Spanish side say they are signing a player who "shone in the tournament" during the recent Women's Europa Cup.
