Real Madrid has officially announced the signing of Andreia Jacinto, aiming to strengthen the midfield after the departure of top scoring striker Caroline Weir. Jacinto joins the club from Real Sociedad and has signed a four-year contract until June 2030, after helping her side finish third in Liga F in the 2025-26 season. She made 86 appearances for La Real in all competitions, scoring three goals, all of which came in her first Liga F season. Jacinto is the latest recruit in Madrid's bid to improve on their second-place finish in the league and escape back-to-back Champions League quarter-final defeats. The news comes after Madrid confirmed on Friday that Weir would end his four-year spell with the Spanish capital. Despite being out of action for a year due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, Weir still played 125 matches during this time and scored 63 goals, becoming the highest scorer in the club's history since joining from Manchester City in 2022. Jacinto is not the only name to join Madrid's midfield, as Elisa Senss has also signed a four-year contract after moving from Eintracht Frankfurt. ¡Bienvenida, Andreia!
