Richard Hughes would be crazy to sell Liverpool's 'fearless' before this happens

Richard Hughes has a lot of work to do this summer. After spending £450 million last transfer season, he probably thought this summer would be easier. However, that's not quite the case with Andoni Iraola and Hughes have confirmed their first signing of the season with Victor Munoz. But in order for Liverpool to add players to the squad, they need to liquidate some players, which is not easy. The depth of Liverpool's current squad is already quite thin, so selling players could have a big impact on them. Many members of Iraola's squad have been linked with exits, but one player in particular is attracting major attention. However, currently, a deal does not seem to make sense for Liverpool, especially at this time.

Currently, Curtis Jones is the player most likely to leave Liverpool. Although he played quite well when called upon last season, Arne Slot had little faith in him and when used, he was often placed at right-back. This has left the Englishman looking for a way out even though other players in his position are not much better. Inter Milan are leading the race for his signature, but as Liverpool and the Serie A club still have a £10m gap in valuation, a deal is yet to be done. And until deals for players such as Felix Nmecha, Elliott Anderson and Ayoub Bouaddi are completed, it would not make sense for Liverpool to part ways with Jones.


Of course, the Englishman only has one year left on his current contract, but he is still only 25 years old and has diverse abilities. If Anderson were sold for £130 million instead of £120 million, it could make it easier for Liverpool to ask for more money from Inter. That is why Liverpool cannot accept a deal for the English player at this time.

Now that Slot is gone, Jones could have another chance to prove his worth under Iraola.
