Rodrygo Goes praises Jose Mourinho as he eyes a return to Real Madrid
Rodrygo Goes discussed his injury recovery process and expressed his desire to play under the guidance of Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, while also commenting on Brazil's performance at the World Cup.
One of the main reasons for Real Madrid's recent two titleless seasons is the team's injury problems. Injury crises, where many players are unable to play due to injury, are not uncommon and despite recent changes in the medical department, the situation has not improved much.
One Merengue player who has had a difficult time with injury is striker Rodrygo Goes, who was injured in March. He tore his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in a match against Getafe and is still recovering. This is an unfortunate development for the Brazilian, because in addition to missing the rest of the season, this injury also means he cannot participate in the 2026 World Cup.

Rodrygo still needs more time to fully recover and is expected to return to training in the first few weeks or months of next season. However, he did not give up football even though he was still recovering. Even though he couldn't play on the field, he still followed Brazil's journey at the World Cup. During this time, Rodrygo also wrote articles for the English newspaper The Guardian, mainly commenting on the home team's performance at the tournament.
In one such article, he talked about the coach of the Brazilian team, Carlo Ancelotti, with whom he worked at Real Madrid. In this article, Rodrygo also commented on Jose Mourinho's appearance at Real Madrid and expressed his desire to play under the guidance of the Portuguese military leader. His comments are as follows: "In my journey so far, I have been guided by many top coaches, as well as people I respect and are grateful to such as Zinedine Zidane, Fernando Diniz, Xabi Alonso and Álvaro Arbeloa. I am continuing my recovery process with high hopes of joining Real Madrid under the reign of José Mourinho, a coach who has all it takes to lead us back to trophies. In a competitive field Competition is as fierce as football, it's impossible not to be excited to work with a professional known as 'the special one'."
There is no denying the talent and skill that Rodrygo possesses, but in the future, he needs to improve his fitness and stay away from injuries. Hopefully he will soon return from his current injury and help Real Madrid return to the winning path under the guidance of a new coach.
