Rúben Amorim: AC Milan's new coach talks about his expectations and future

Rúben Amorim had his first press conference as head coach of AC Milan last Wednesday. During this press conference, the Portuguese coach shared his expectations at San Siro, as well as information about the record contract Gonçalo Ramos and the future of Luka Modric.

Amorim said that for him, leading AC Milan is an opportunity for him to reaffirm himself after unsuccessful days at Manchester United. "We don't intend just not to lose, we came here to win. In Italy, winning is very difficult. This is a big challenge," Amorim said.

Milan has gone through a tumultuous summer with many changes to the squad and Amorim is an important part of this rebuilding plan. He emphasized, "President Gerry Cardinale wants to see beautiful play. I have had great memories with AC Milan in the past. Now that I am here, it makes me feel happy but also puts a big responsibility on my shoulders."

Besides, Amorim expressed confidence that Gonçalo Ramos, one of the club's record transfers, will be an ideal addition to the team. Ramos joined AC Milan from Paris Saint-Germain for an unprecedented fee. "We believe in Ramos' talent. When looking at what he showed at the recent World Cup, I believe he can adapt to the style of play in Serie A," Amorim commented.

As for the future of Luka Modric, 40 years old, Amorim said he really wants to keep this player here. "We have had discussions with Modric. I hope he will stay with us next season. He is an important player and will bring a lot of value to the team," Amorim added.

The press conference ended with high expectations from Coach Amorim for a successful season for AC Milan, where he will strive to bring the best success and achievements to the team.
