Love, civilization and freedom: Lazio wins at Flaminio

A colorful day of football love at the Flaminio stadium: from the parade at Ponte Milvio to the evening outside the stadium. Lazio returned to victory at the Flaminio. This has nothing to do with the stadium renovation plan, but is simply a meaningful ceremony. More than 25,000 fans gathered on a hot afternoon in Rome to show their love. This is a demonstration, but more than that, it is a summary of the meaning of Lazio's history. From 4:00 p.m., many fans were present at the Ponte Milvio area, an hour and a half earlier than the fan group's appointment time. The parade started at around 6:30 p.m., passing through viale Tiziano and arriving under the Curva Sud of the Flaminio field, where a stage had been set up for the ceremony. This evening was a summary of Lazio's history, from the 1958 Italian Cup to the current squad, many prominent figures of the past and present appeared. There was an appearance by Adelmo "Memmo" Eufemi, a member of the team that won the first championship in Lazio history, and a congratulatory video from Alessio Romagnoli sent to the fans. This is a symbolic message that goes beyond mere words. Along with that were the stars from '74, the champions of the Cragnotti era and other players who played for Lazio under Lotito, all of whom wanted to say hello to the fans. From Delio Rossi to Ledesma, from Hernandes to Stefano Mauri, from Luis Alberto to Felipe Caicedo. Different generations of players but connected by an eternal thread: love for Lazio, celebrated last night at the Flaminio. The parade with about 25,000 people went off without any problems, fully respecting the city. In a period where protests often lead to disorder and conflict, yesterday was a great example of civility. It can all be summed up in love and freedom. "The love that moved the sun and the stars" also dispersed the clouds and chased away the rain predicted for that afternoon. This love represents at least three generations that were present in the parade. From the grandparents who remember the first trophies between the Italian Cup of '58 and the Lazio of '74, to the fathers who were attached to Lazio during the -9 era and Cragnotti's management, and then to the children, who only know the Lotito era. However, these young people still felt moved when listening to congratulatory videos from Signori, Nesta and Veron, because they were their parents' idols, idols passed down from "father to son" in true Lazio style. People who feel uncomfortable from the heat, children use crutches or casts because participation is important. A day where the key word is freedom. Free to love. And that love turned a protest into a festival, ending with the launch of "pioverà", a new single by Briga, who chose to dedicate a song to Lazio. A love song for the deceased like Luciano Re Cecconi, Vincenzo Paparelli and Gabriele Sandri. A day that should have started in the rain and ended with "pioverà". On a day without a match, a day when the club introduced new shirts in protest, Lazio still won thanks to the celebration of the people themselves. Lazio returned to victory at the Flaminio 23 years after the last match played here.
