Vozinha: I will do everything to prevent Messi from scoring
Vozinha, goalkeeper of Cape Verde, vowed to do everything possible to prevent Messi from scoring in the upcoming 2026 World Cup match.
Cape Verde team goalkeeper Vozinha recently spoke about the upcoming match against Argentina in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup. He acknowledged the outstanding talent of Lionel Messi, Argentina's captain, but also affirmed that he will do his best to prevent this striker from scoring.
"Messi is the greatest player of all time. Every team feels nervous when facing him. Playing on the field with Messi is a dream, and one day I will proudly tell my children that I played against him. I know that stopping him is almost impossible, but I will do everything possible so that he does not score against me," Vozinha told Goal Verse.
The match between Argentina and Cabo Verde will take place on June 29. Argentina won first place in Group J, while Cabo Verde qualified for the group stage with second place in Group H, pushing Uruguay out.
