Over the past year, Schalk has moved from ADO Den Haag to Real Murcía. However, in Spain, the attacker was not able to find his best form and therefore decided to terminate his contract. In recent months, Schalk has maintained his fitness at NAC Breda, allowing him to fully participate with VVV, a team that is looking for experienced players for the attack. Through technical director Nils Röseler, VVV contacted Schalk and this led to a contract being signed, allowing Schalk to continue his career at De Koel. This player really wanted to start the new season with a new team and decided to choose VVV despite there being interest from other clubs in the KKD. It is known that after NAC, (Jong) PSV, Go Ahead Eagles, Ross County, Servette FC, Urawa Red Diamonds, ADO and Murcia, VVV is the ninth club in his career.
