Cristiano Ronaldo set a new record, becoming both the youngest and oldest player to score for Portugal, scoring twice in the match against Uzbekistan at the 2026 World Cup.


Striker Cristiano Ronaldo of the Portuguese team scored two goals against Uzbekistan in the second match of Group K of the 2026 World Championship with a score of 5-0. Thanks to these goals, Ronaldo set a new record for the Portuguese team. He became both the youngest and oldest player to score for his national team. At the age of 41, Ronaldo scored against Uzbekistan. To date, only two other players in football history, Argentina's Lionel Messi and Denmark's Michael Laudrup, have similar records in their respective teams. Notably, Ronaldo also became the oldest player to score two goals in World Cup history.
