Context
Ronald Araujo, currently playing for Liverpool on loan from Barcelona, may be an important bridge to help Balde integrate with the new team. Araujo has experience playing in La Liga and could share valuable insights into Barcelona's playing style with Balde, should the player join Liverpool.
Why this is important
Liverpool's interest in Alejandro Balde shows that they are looking to strengthen their defense, especially after Andy Robertson left. Balde, once an outstanding young talent at Barcelona, is now having difficulty finding a place in La Liga. If Liverpool sign Balde, this could cause a big change in their squad.
Main point
- Liverpool are interested in signing defender Alejandro Balde.
- Liverpool is looking for a new left-back and has been offered a contract with Alejandro Balde, a player who is not having a solid foothold at Barcelona.
- Liverpool offered sensational January deal for £34m Barcelona star.
Liverpool is making positive moves in strengthening the squad before the winter transfer period. According to many sources, the Anfield team is considering the possibility of recruiting Alejandro Balde, Barcelona's left back, who is no longer in coach Xavi's plans.
Alejandro Balde, 22 years old, was a promising young talent and was coach Hansi Flick's priority choice for the Spanish team last season. However, this season, he only had one appearance as a substitute in a short 12-minute match. The main reason for Balde not being used is fierce competition from teammates like Xavi Espert and Joao Cancelo.
Currently, Balde is under contract with Barcelona until 2028, but this team is ready to listen to offers for their young player. According to information from TEAMtalk, Paris Saint-Germain is said to be preparing an offer worth 40 million euros (34 million pounds) for Balde. However, Liverpool have also been offered the opportunity to sign this player.
The report said: "Balde's camp and intermediaries are working hard to find options for the player outside of Catalunya." Liverpool currently only has two main left-back options: Milos Kerkez and Kostas Tsimikas. Andy Robertson left on a free transfer to Tottenham, while Tsimikas only has a contract until the end of this season.
With the current situation, Liverpool needs additional personnel to strengthen the defense on the left wing. Signing Balde will not only bring competition for this position but also help Liverpool increase squad depth during a crucial period of the season.
Fans are looking forward to seeing whether Liverpool can complete this deal in the next transfer window, especially when Balde is also said to be heading to the Premier League.
What happens next
Liverpool may conduct negotiations with Barcelona about signing Balde in the next winter transfer window. If Barcelona accepts the offers, Balde may look for the opportunity to play more regularly in the Premier League. At the same time, the fact that Ronald Araujo has joined Liverpool on loan can also create favorable conditions for Balde to adapt to the new environment.
