Nottingham Forest fired coach Vítor Pereira despite his achievements
Nottingham Forest fired coach Vítor Pereira after a short period of time, even though he helped the team maintain their position in the Premier League and reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Nottingham Forest has decided to terminate the contract with coach Vítor Pereira after a short time working at City Ground, according to the official announcement from the Premier League club. The Portuguese coach, 57 years old, took office last February to replace Sean Dyche. Under Pereira's guidance, Nottingham Forest secured their place in the Premier League and reached the semi-finals of the Europa League before being eliminated from the competition by Aston Villa, who went on to win the title. His contract was due to expire in June 2027, but Nottingham Forest have triggered a termination clause in the deal. "We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Vítor and his team for their dedication and efforts during their time at the Club. They have represented Nottingham Forest with great spirit," the club said in a press release. The decision reflects instability within Nottingham's coaching staff, with Pereira being the fourth manager in a chaotic season that has previously seen the departures of Nuno Espírito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche. According to information from British media, Oliver Glasner is expected to replace Pereira. As it was reported in January, the Austrian coach left Crystal Palace after the end of the season, despite leading the team to win the Conference League title (winning Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in the final) and the first FA Cup in history in 2025, when defeating Manchester City (1-0). Last summer, he also won the Community Shield against Liverpool after a penalty shootout (2-2 and 3-2).
