French team player Kylian Mbappé shared why he did not cry after his team's defeat to Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar. He said: "People think I never cry. They often ask why I don't cry in 2022. Actually, tears don't flow. I feel like I've been 'knocked out', as if everything around me has shut down. If tears flow, I won't be able to hold it back. If tomorrow we win the World Cup and I need to cry - I will cry. But my joy is rarely to that extent. For me, joy is smile. It's important to be honest with yourself and not suppress what you feel," Mbappé was quoted as saying by Le Parisien. At 27 years old, Mbappé is preparing for his third World Cup. He won the tournament in 2018 and in the 2022 final he scored a hat-trick, but the French team lost to Argentina in a penalty shootout. The French team will begin their journey at the 2026 World Cup on June 16 with a match against Senegal in Group I.
