Modric is nearing the end of his playing career, but not right after leaving Milan
Luka Modric is about to end his career at Milan, but can continue to play for Croatia in the next World Cup.
Luka Modric will end his journey at Milan and Serie A. His path is now set, with the Croatian preparing to hang up his boots after a memorable and accomplished career that many other players would envy. However, he has not completely said goodbye to football, because Modric may have the opportunity to play one last time with Croatia, his national team, where he has contributed greatly to creating memorable pages of history.
Croatia will compete in the upcoming World Cup against England, in a group that also includes Panama and Ghana. If Croatia passes the group stage, Modric's career will continue long after his contract with Milan ends. Because the round of 16 match schedule will take place after July 1, at which time Modric's contract with Milan has expired, but he can still play for a while longer.
If Croatia progresses further in the tournament, it will be a fitting end to a high-caliber football career. Modric absolutely deserves a better ending than what he experienced in his final year with Milan.
