Michael Gorzynski, an American businessman, has officially become a major shareholder of Legia Warszawa, one of the leading clubs in Ekstraklasa. His participation not only brings capital but also an opportunity for Legia to develop further under the leadership of Dariusz Mioduski.

Why this is important

Dariusz Mioduski's sale of 40% of Legia Warszawa's shares to Michael Gorzynski is not only a big turning point for the club but also opens up new opportunities for the development of Polish football. Gorzynski, with a long-term vision, can bring new resources and strategies, helping Legia strengthen its position in the Ekstraklasa and on the international stage.

Last September, Dariusz Mioduski made a deal to sell 40% of Legii Warszawa's shares to American businessman Michael Gorzynski. There has been a lot of information that Mioduski does not sell at a low price. Now, this information has been confirmed by journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk.

"There is huge potential in Polish football, and nowhere is it more evident than at Legii Warszawa. Not many clubs in the world can compare with the history, the community and the foundation that Dariusz and his team have built: a modern training center, a high-quality academy, a cutting-edge commercial operation and a highly professional organization," Gorzynski said after taking over shares in Legii.

Mioduski also did not hesitate to praise Gorzynski: "For him, this is an emotional return to his roots. He sees it long-term, as something he wants to help. This is completely in line with my approach. I'm happy that I finally have someone I can hopefully rely on and trust."

From the beginning, it was clear that Gorzynski spent a large sum of money to own shares in the capital's football team. The media has reported that the amount ranges from 40-50 million euros. Now, details of the transaction have been announced by Tomasz Włodarczyk.

"When his name was announced, there was information that he would invest 50 million euros in Legii. This amount is correct, he bought shares in Legii with that amount," journalist Włodarczyk said on Meczyki. "Some of this money will appear in the business register soon. Time will show how this affects Legii's winter transfer window," he added.

Gorzynski was present at the recent match between Legii Warszawa and Wisła Kraków. He seemed very excited with what happened in the match. "Michael Gorzynski, looking from the stands, was very impressed with the way the team played and the whole atmosphere at the ground. On Monday he met with staff from different departments, went to the LTC and also had a chat with Marek Papszun and Fredy Bobic," said Włodarczyk.

Currently, Legia is having a much more successful season than last year. Coach Marek Papszun's team is currently ranked second on the rankings, only three points behind top team Górnik Zabrze. They are also the only team that has not yet lost in this year's Ekstraklasa season. Legia will try to extend this unbeaten streak in the match against Cracovia, which takes place on Saturday, October 17 at 20:15.
